New work ...So what do you think

The first two pics are closeups of two pieces that will 24 inches by 28 inches when done ...aprroximately.

For as long as I can remember I have collected fabrics to do a series of houses...and now is the time to start using some of it...no more sitting on things and not using them.  As goes for all the trims I have collected in all of my travels.  When I used to go to PA with my parents to buy antique books for our bookstore or before that when we would go to estate sales I would search out and hoard old lace pieces, and trims. I became so known for my obsession people would find them for me.  I have some very very old pieces hand made that I absolutely love. But anyway the trim on the house windows is some of those antique trims.
They look perfect on the windows.

The other two pics are some 5 x 7 inch postcards that I am starting to make using my house theme ...the purple one is a thank you card for my Aunt Jane, my mom's sister and the other one the house of music I will be adding to the etsy store for sale.

I have some others in the works ...some truly funky fabulous houses ....

Check back often as I will be staying on top of posting things.  I got a digital camera for Christmas to replace the one I lost last year.  So will be easier.

Christmas was quiet ....my youngest daughter made a painting for me with all my favorite things, dragonfly, kingfisher, raccoon and favorite words ...in the center she put my favorite photo of John and I on my 50th birthday ...it is truly special.

Years of searching and collecting, a project idea nurtured, and now - fruition! Delightful houses created by art quilting! How completely thrilling! I'm so excited about your new camera and all the great artwork and memories you'll be sharing!

Feels good to be able to use these fabrics and trims and to find the courage to let them go...once this group is done I can start looking for more fun house fabrics if they do good...

Thank You Tammy Happy New Year

Tammy,

These houses are so cute and whimsical! I especially like the church and the pink one with the flowers; they make me smile. I'm looking forward to more!

I also want to borrow a word from your page -- "No more sitting on things and not using them". I have stuff like that in my stash too -- in particular some handkerchiefs that I've had set aside for quite some time. Now you have inspired me to include them in my pieces *this year*!

Best,
M in M

Having been a artist literally all my life, I love color and dimension.I learned to sew at age 10 , by age 13 started a stuffed animal business, which grew into a collectable Teddy Bear Business for 15 + years. I opened my own bead store specializing in Spontaneous Creation classes and love to teach everyone they could be creative and open the door to their imagination.I recently returned to one of my favorite art forms taking photographs my father gave me my first camera when I was a child and I have loved photography ever since. I took professional family portraits and weddings for the first 5 years living in the Outer Banks, I am now shooting Family portraits again and sharing my love of the Outer Banks through my blogs. Be creative, walk in faith and never give up....It all happens in God's time
